Battery capacity is finite, so runtime depends on what is connected and how heavily those circuits are used. The same battery system can perform very differently depending on the property’s load choices.

This makes circuit selection especially important. A well-designed critical-load setup separates essential equipment from nonessential demand. Instead of attempting to support every outlet and appliance, it focuses stored energy where it provides the most practical benefit.

Battery systems can also make sense for properties that experience shorter or intermittent outages, or where quiet operation is a priority.
